Admissions

Hillside Specialist School and College is an all age (4-19) county wide provision designated for children and young people with a diagnosis of ASD and an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

School admissions are managed through the Local Authority’s consultation process in which the school responds by confirming if they can meet a young person’s needs, and if the designated year group place is available.

The school and Local Authority do not operate a waiting list and pupils are placed purely on their needs and not by additional criteria such as distance from school or due to sibling attendance.

Parents can book in for a Without Prejudice Visit to look around the school to help them make an informed choice of preference, however a visit is not a requirement for their child to be offered a place by the Local Authority.  Due to high demand and capacity, the school operates a waiting list for visits and prioritises year groups where places are available.
