Cedar 2025 - 2026
Ms Rachael Fogg
Welcome to Cedar class!
In our class there are 8 children who are in KS3/4 and five staff including four teaching assistants’: Tracey, Lucy, Hannah and Natalie who all do a fantastic job of supporting the children.
This Spring term we will be carrying on our ASDAN awards, there are three different types in our class. Some of us are focusing on learning about careers in the community including trips to a local cafe, which we are looking forward to. Others are focusing on our sensory and physical wellbeing.
In PE we are building up our gymnastic skills by practising travelling in lots of different ways, balances and jumps which is lots of fun!
Our science is focused on learning about and sorting different types of materials.
Our theme this half term is India and for our English we are enjoying a story based on India including props such as smelling spices, tasting poppadoms and animal figures from India. We are practising recognising words and pictures connected to the story and matching them to increase our vocabulary.
We are also learning about India as part of our geography lessons as well as looking at different types of buildings and comparing them to Longridge.
In maths our focus is time. So far, we have looked at the difference between day and night and have moved on to looking at daily routines.
Our PSHE is based on internet safety - what information should be kept private and also what chance and risk mean.
