Maple 2025 - 2026
Miss Laura Salisbury
Maple Class has had a brilliant start to the autumn term!
We’ve begun our ASDAN Personal Progress work with some exciting work experience placements. Students are heading off-site to Let’s Grow, and also supporting our site supervisors on school grounds.
In class, we’re developing kitchen skills as part of our AQA Unit Award Scheme, students are focusing on food safety and hygiene, using kitchen equipment safely and following simple recipes and instructions. These sessions are a great opportunity to build independence and practical life skills.
We will also be starting our AQA enterprise project, where students will plan and run a mini enterprise to help raise money for our future visits into the community. We will hopefully be heading out into the local community to sell our products at a variety of markets and shops, so please come and visit us!
Our communication focus will be on using appropriate greetings and responses, asking for help or clarification when problem solving and engaging in simple conversations and turn-taking. These skills will be supported throughout the day, in lessons, during work experience, and in social times.
Well done to all students for their hard work and enthusiasm so far, we are looking forward to a great year!
